Agriturismo
Sanvitale
holiday accommodation on an
organic farm in mugello |
 |
Agriturismo Sanvitale, located
in the green Mugello countryside hardly 35 km north of Florence and
surrounded by meadows, fields, woods of chestnut and oak trees, lies
in a cool, quiet little valley at the foot of the Apennine mountains.
A nearby rushing brook keeps the climate pleasantly fresh even in
the heart of Summer.
The farm buildings comprise the manor house and an adjoining stone
barn, recently restored and converted to guest accommodation using
natural building material such as wood, terracotta tiles and the local
grey sandstone.
The bedrooms all have private bathrooms and heating.
In order to ensure guests with a healthy sleep, we have chosen for
you top quality slatted beds and latex foam mattresses.
Agriturismo Sanvitale offers 16 beds in 8 rooms (7 double and 1 single
bedroom), a comfortable guest lounge, a large garden and a warm dining
room where guests can enjoy delicious Tuscan cuisine with traditional
and vegetarian dishes, based on the organic ingredients from the estate.
The bedrooms are all different in size and fittings.
Four of them are on the ground floor, facing south, and can be individually
accessed through large French windows overlooking the farmyard-garden.
Room no.1, no.2, no.3 and no.4 have the typical Florentine terracotta tiles floor.
All the bedrooms on the upper
floor and the shared sitting room have wooden flooring instead.

On the first floor, which can be accessed through an indoor stairway,
the trussed roof is wooden, with earthquake-proof iron beams in compliance
with the latest provisions. Room no.7 is an intimate single bedroom
decorated in green shades and with an arched window facing south;
the ensuite bathroom is opposite the bedroom, across a small passage
which also serves to access no.8, a blue room located in the turret
of the barn, with two pretty arched windows.
The shared sitting room provides access to room no.6, the largest
of our bedrooms is blue-coloured, and has a large arched window and
the typical brick grating which was once used to aerate the hay; the
bathroom window offers a superb view of our little valley and of the
Apennine mountains.
Room no.5, decorated in relaxing green shades, is accessed by means
of outside stairs in wood and iron. From its small balcony, early
birds can enjoy the sunrise in the shade of thujas, while nighthawks
will be charmed by the rising moon.
The guest lounge is decorated with period furniture: sofas and armchairs
for reading, card tables for a round of cards. Tasteful paintings
of Tuscan landscapes and portraits decorate the walls. The left part
of the building houses the kitchen and a welcoming dining room, with
wooden floor and a fireplace.
We personally take care of our guests with kindness and solicitude
and aim to make their stay as pleasant as possible. The tranquillity
of the house and the beauty of the landscape ensure a relaxing and
peaceful holiday for couples, families and parties of friends, who
often become our regular guests.
We look forward to welcoming you! |
