Tuscan recipes and creative home cooking
In the evening you can enjoy a home made dinner of delicious and wholesome
dishes, freshly cooked for our guests. Our kitchen is alien to pre-cooked,
canned and freeze-dried food, and we never use a microwave oven: we
pride in always providing top quality meals.
All our dishes are prepared using strictly fresh local ingredients,
whenever possible from our own organic crops: chestnut flour, maize
meal, and wheat flour, seasonal vegetables from our vegetable garden,
home made fruit preserves and jam; or typical local produce, such
as meat, cured meats, ducks, poultry and rabbit from local breeding
farms.
Dinner starts with appetizers and ends with desserts; only drinks
are charged extra.
Here is a typical sample from our menu:
Appetizers:
- Tuscan canapés
- chestnut and pigs cheek fagottini
- chard and cheese strudel
First course:
- chestnut flour tagliatelle with walnut sauce and herbs
- tagliatelle with artichoke sauce
Second course:
- scamerita with onions and Mugello chestnuts
Vegetables:
- chard in tomato sauce
- sweet radicchio salad
Dessert:
- apple strudel
- honey and nuts tart
